Satyanarayan Joshi
Satyanarayan Joshi is a prominent Indian investigative journalist, political strategist, RTI activist, and public commentator based in Rajasthan. Over more than a decade in media and civic engagement, Joshi has built a strong reputation across regional political and administrative spheres by combining investigative reporting with an explicit emphasis on Sanatan values and nationalist ethics.
He manages multiple media platforms, including 29NEWS (a digital news network centered on environmental and cultural reporting), Right News Analysis (an investigative weekly newspaper), and Publisher First (a monthly socio-political periodical). In addition to his media leadership, he serves as the State Vice President for Vipra Sena (Brahmin Mahapanchayat) in Rajasthan.[1][2][3]
Early Life and Roots
Born in the village of Bhojasar—located in the Phalodi district (formerly part of Jodhpur district), Rajasthan (Pin Code: 342311)—Joshi grew up in a traditional, culturally rooted Brahmin family.
His upbringing was significantly influenced by his father’s long-standing connection to the Gayatri Pariwar, a global spiritual and social organization that exposed the household to Vedic principles and civic service. From an early age, Joshi participated in local activities of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and regularly read Pathey Kan, an intellectual nationalist journal that heavily shaped his later editorial perspective.
His permanent and correspondence address remains at Brahminon Ka Bas, Gram Panchayat Bhojasar, District Phalodi, Rajasthan (342311).
Professional Career
Inspirations and Ideological Roots
Joshi’s decision to pursue journalism was guided by strong ideological convictions formed during his youth. He was particularly drawn to the outspoken editorial style of the newspaper Saamna and the public speeches and interviews of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. Motivated by Thackeray’s direct stance on administrative accountability, Joshi turned to journalism as a primary vehicle for public transparency.[4][5]
Political Analysis and Regional Influence
Beyond news reporting, Joshi operates as a political strategist and commentator with a focus on grassroots dynamics in Western Rajasthan:
-
Regional Reach: Holds notable social and strategic influence throughout the Marwar belt, particularly in the Phalodi constituency, where he conducts electoral forecasting and behind-the-scenes policy analysis.
-
Public Advocacy: His direct questioning of regional administrative lapses has positioned him as an active voice for local civic grievances.
-
Organizational Network: Maintains an extensive, organized network of youth volunteers, community workers, and local thinkers across the region for social initiatives.
Association with Patanjali Yogpeeth and Swadeshi Movement
Joshi has long been active in promoting yoga, indigenous production (Swadeshi), and Sanatan cultural values. He is a Life Member of both the Patanjali Yog Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman (Nyas).
-
Formerly served as the Au Tehsil In-charge for Patanjali Yog Samiti to expand health and wellness initiatives at the village level.
-
Currently sits on the Phalodi District Executive Committee of the Patanjali Yog Samiti.
-
Collaborates closely with Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj to promote indigenous goods and yoga education across the Marwar region.
Media Enterprises and Platform Operations
Joshi’s media career spans broadcast, print, and digital formats:
Broadcast Media
Starting as a grassroots reporter in rural Rajasthan, he eventually rose to become the State Coordinator for Rajasthan at Sudarshan News, a national nationalist news channel. During this period, he worked alongside channel leadership, including Chairman Suresh Chavhanke and National Coordinator R.K. Rajpurohit.
Current Media Ventures
Joshi owns and edits three primary publications and media outlets:[6][7]
-
29NEWS: Operating as an eco-conscious digital news channel, 29NEWS covers environmental conservation, wildlife, and cultural affairs. Its official Facebook page has a follower base exceeding 565,000 users.
-
Right News Analysis: A weekly investigative print newspaper targeting administrative corruption, governance issues, and policy compliance.
-
Publisher First: A national monthly print magazine tailored toward policy-makers, researchers, and public intellectuals discussing socio-economic challenges.
High Court Protection and RTI Activism
Joshi holds a notable judicial precedent in Rajasthan's media history. Following a series of high-profile investigative reports on land cartels, financial fraud, and administrative misconduct, he became the first journalist in the state to receive an official judicial security order issued by the Rajasthan High Court.[8]
Through his work as a Right to Information (RTI) activist, Joshi has filed over 1,200 RTI applications to uncover irregularities in land allocation and municipal spending. After receiving documented death threats from cross-border Pakistani phone numbers and local crime syndicates, the Rajasthan High Court intervened, directing the Director General of Police (DGP) and regional law enforcement to grant him official police protection.[9]
Operations and Headquarters
Because Phalodi was historically part of the Jodhpur administrative region, Joshi retains active professional and operational ties across both districts. To oversee his various publications and civic organizations, he maintains 24/7 operating offices in both Jodhpur and Phalodi.
Leadership and Civic Roles
-
Vipra Sena (Brahmin Mahapanchayat): Serves as State Vice President, directing statewide programs focused on community youth employment, educational initiatives, and cultural preservation.
-
Marwar Research Institute: Founder and head of this regional research body dedicated to documenting the history, manuscript traditions, folk culture, and economic development of Western Rajasthan.
Personal Life
Joshi’s household is actively involved in public service and political organizing. His wife, Smt. Basanti Satyanarayan Joshi, is a political figure in the region, having previously served as the District Vice President for the BJP Mahila Morcha in Phalodi. During state assembly elections, she was assigned by the party's State Election Management Committee to oversee organizational outreach under the Social Pravas Yojana across critical constituencies in Western Rajasthan.
Joshi maintains that despite political affiliations within his family, his newsrooms operate independently, keeping personal politics separate from editorial oversight.
